Introduction

ABRYSVO Maternal Immunization Tool: A UI Design Case Study for Pregnant Women's Vaccine Eligibility by Due Date and Location.

ABRYSVO by Pfizer is a vaccine indicated for pregnant individuals to prevent lower respiratory tract disease caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in infants. Pfizer required a tool for their ABRYSVO website that could help expectant mothers determine their eligibility for the vaccine based on their pregnancy timeline and location. As the UI Designer for this project, my objective was to design a user-friendly and informative eligibility calculator.

Problem Identification

The main challenge was to create an intuitive interface that would help pregnant women easily determine their eligibility for the ABRYSVO vaccine by entering their due date and zip code. The tool needed to account for gestational age, geographical availability, and provide clear information on whether the user was within the recommended vaccination window and if the vaccine was available in their region.

Research

To better understand the target audience and their needs, I conducted the following research activities:

01

Reviewed existing pregnancy-related apps and tools

02

Studied medical guidelines on ABRYSVO administration

03

Consulted with healthcare professionals and expectant mothers to identify their concerns and expectations

04

Reviewed existing migraine-related websites and campaigns

Ideation

With the insights gathered from research, I started generating ideas for the ABRYSVO eligibility calculator. I explored different layouts, interaction flows, and visual styles that would provide a seamless user experience while allowing users to input their due date and zip code.

Design Solution

Additional resources and next steps for users, depending on their eligibility and location

Clear and concise content to explain the purpose of the tool

A visually appealing and easy-to-interpret output displaying the user's eligibility status based on their gestational age and geographical location

A simple input mechanism for users to provide their expected due date and zip code

Tool working steps

Testing

To validate the effectiveness of the eligibility calculator, we conducted usability testing with expectant mothers. The feedback confirmed that the tool was user-friendly, informative, and helped users determine their eligibility for the ABRYSVO vaccine based on their due date and geographical location.

Reflection

This project provided a valuable opportunity to apply my UI design skills to a healthcare-related challenge. By creating a user-centric tool, I aimed to empower expectant mothers to make informed decisions about their health and their babies' well-being. In the future, I will continue to prioritize accessibility and clarity in my designs, striving to create meaningful solutions for real-world problems.
